How To Respond To Trials

Trials are hard. They can leave us discouraged, overwhelmed, and wondering what God is doing. James does not ask us to pretend that our suffering does not hurt. Instead, he helps us see our trials in light of what God is doing through them. In James 1:1–11, we are reminded that God uses even difficult seasons to strengthen our faith, produce steadfastness, and make us more like Christ. And when we do not know what to do, God invites us to come to Him for wisdom. He is generous, and He does not shame us for needing His help. In this sermon, Pastor Tony Doppke encourages us to think clearly, ask trustingly, and boast rightly when trials come, resting not in our circumstances but in the riches we have in Christ and looking to Jesus, who endured suffering for our salvation.
